Duncan Entertainment Group, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
OVERVIEW
An independent film and television production company, The Duncan Entertainment Group has created documentaries for release to broadcast networks, streaming services, and educational platforms around the world for more than thirty-five years.
Among the suites in the Nō Studios Building, theirs is one of the smallest, most versatile. Often collaborating with neighboring Independent Studios, Duncan Group, first and foremost, needed a space to edit, work, and display their award-winning international photography and films in a clean and professional office space.
The client requested that the space also accommodate interviews, photo sessions, and video shoots with a quick adjustment of furniture. Keeping that in mind, it was imperative that Abacus Architects kept acoustic and lighting properties in mind, implementing acoustic baffles and flexible lighting controls to work cohesively with the interior design elements, including existing brickwork, wood flooring, and exposed structure.
Fortunate to have an eastern exposure, the client wanted to take advantage of the plentiful natural morning light that filled the entire space. The mixture of interior design elements, overall lighting, and acoustic controls lends itself to an aesthetically pleasing, efficient use of space that aids in producing award-worthy material.
