First Christian Reformed Church, Oostburg, Wisconsin
OVERVIEW
A church ministering to the community for over 150 years, the First Christian Reformed Church hosts events within their building almost every day of the week. They desperately needed help both increasing and better utilizing their space.
Knowing their needs better than most, lead architect, Paul Mentink, and professional engineer, Joel Van Ess–both active members of FCRC–met with their building committee and came up with a plan to help them continue to provide worship, fellowship, education and service.
The footprint of the building doubled in size with the addition of a new fellowship hall, new gourmet kitchen, an office suite, additional bathrooms, a youth center, a conference room and a first-aid room. The previous fellowship hall was then converted into eleven classrooms, giving them the ability to move prior religious ed. classes from a nearby home back to the church building.
