In an area that had a few unsuccessful redevelopment attempts, the city of Hartford was excited to see the project of Rincón 225 break ground in downtown Hartford. The site had once been home to an old factory, resulting in soil contamination. The challenge ensued. With the financial aid of an EPA Brownfield Grant and guidance by an environmental agency, all contaminated soil was replaced with clean fill.
Located on a slightly elevated site, the views from the south-facing corner of Rincón 225 overlook downtown Hartford. The 1.5-acre complex includes two levels of parking, one secure and underground. Every tenant has an additional storage space and the use of a dog-washing station, bike-repair station, Community Room with full kitchen and access to the Y facility just down the street.
