River North, Manitowoc, Wisconsin
OVERVIEW
Based on the shores of Lake Michigan, Manitowoc has a rich history in ship building. The design of this multi-family building nods to this in the use of the color palette, as well as the materials.
This site rests on a peninsula, jutting out into the Manitowoc River, and within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Previously owned by a railroad company, the city had long-awaited for the opportunity to develop this prime piece of downtown real estate. Views of the river can be enjoyed from three directions, as well as Lake Michigan views from the upper levels.
Plans for a park between the River North building and river are underway, as are plans for a boat landing, giving residents many ways to enjoy this location. Other amenities offered are underground parking, a Community Room, an exercise room, an outdoor patio overlooking the river, and storage in lower level accommodating kayaks.
