ABACUS ARCHITECTS IS HIRING

CIVIL ENGINEERING

> Recent Graduate of Civil Engineering

Abacus is actively seeking a new graduate of Civil Engineering. The ideal individual will have the potential to grow and advance within our civil engineering department and to assist with all aspects of civil design. Candidates will be expected to possess the ability to maintain strong client relationships, as well as help build and establish new ones. Great communication skills are a must! Other responsibilities would include:

• Client interaction
• Site design for architectural projects
• Storm-Water Management design
• Subdivision design
• Road design
• Erosion-Control design
• Site-Utility design

Our civil engineering department functions as a company within our company. Many civil projects originate through our architectural department, but others come to us as projects unrelated to our architecture assignments. With an expanded team in place we can pursue more of these independent civil projects, and also strengthen the in-house civil engineering we offer our architectural clients.

Abacus was founded in 2003 to be an employee-owned firm, and over the years we have offered ownership to those who have shown leadership. Positions are available in both our Milwaukee and Sheboygan offices. If you, or someone you know, is interested in this opportunity to become an integral member of a firm that places relationships with colleagues and clients first, please contact Joel Van Ess, VP of Civil Engineering.

OUR HISTORY

In 2003, three architects and a civil engineer got together to build on an idea: An architectural firm of employee owners vested in the company’s success. A firm inspired by client priorities, not architect egos. A firm where people come first, everything else second. A firm of equality, not hierarchy. A firm dedicated to serving the common good.

Today, Abacus Architects, Inc. is a full-service firm deeply committed to enhancing human lives and enterprises through the practice of architecture. We apply our expertise in architecture, civil engineering, interior design, lean concepts + consulting, master planning, facility + site studies, and construction administration to help our clients maximize their success.

Our offices are located in two of the oldest buildings in Sheboygan and Milwaukee, but our attitude is decidedly young. Offering large-firm resources with small-firm attention, we partner with clients to create projects that have meaning.

RELATIONAL ARCHITECTURE

Designing buildings that connect with people and places.

Creating places that inspire, enrich, or simply work well is vitally important to us. In fact, every project we pursue is based on our ability to advance our clients’ lives. At Abacus Architects, we design to build relationships. It’s only fundamental. Architecture should serve the people who inhabit the places we create, not the other way around. It’s architecture for all of us, building together to reach a common goal. #relationalarchitecture
