ANDY KERWIN

Architectural Technician

About Andy

When the time came for a career change, previous drafting experience, software knowledge and affinity for problem solving made transitioning to an Architectural Technician an obvious next step. Andy desired to work somewhere where he could see himself growing and staying, and a place where people internally and externally truly mattered. Already being acquainted with Joel and Paul, and the character and values of the firm, Abacus felt like the right fit. With an eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills, he aspires to ensure each unique design process is well planned. Andy is enthusiastic in taking on any layout challenge that crosses his desk.

On working with him

“I’m easy going and an active listener – qualities I feel help me ask the right questions to quickly resolve and overcome objections. The better you can listen, the better you can respond.”

On his favorite project

“Sheboygan Christian School. I have a personal tie to the project as my wife and daughter are graduates and my son is currently attending. My mother-in-law was also a teacher there.”

On his own time

“Family time is important, whether it’s a hike, going out to eat or just taking a drive. (I look for any excuse to drive my Jeep any and everywhere.) I also enjoy being involved in our church, running, coaching youth sports, and watching soccer.”

On relational architecture

“It means knowing the project beyond just its name and location. It’s knowing the people, understanding the purpose and making sure the final product exceeds their expectations.”
