About Paul

Being around construction sites from the age of 15 on, steered Paul in the direction of architecture. He was working in his first post-college position when he joined with four other colleagues in 2003 to form Abacus Architects. Paul professes to have more of an engineering brain than an “artsy” brain, and he relishes the challenge of taking a design sketch and turning it into something buildable. In his role as project architect he’s involved from day one, meeting with the design architect and then managing the project all the way to the ribbon cutting. Paul’s specialty is the hospitality sector, and clients appreciate his knowledge of the business side and upcoming trends.

On working with him

“I’m someone who really understands how everything fits together and enjoy working with the client through construction to realize their dream.”

On his favorite project

“The Pine Haven senior living project allowed us to do something special and become involved in the clinical side of things to understand what works and what doesn’t.”

On his own time

“In addition to being married with two kids in high school, I’m an outdoors person who enjoys hunting and fishing. I have served on the Sheboygan Children’s Museum board for the last 5 years and also the local school board. I also make wine–from grapes I grow and buy–and have trouble keeping up with requests.”

On relational architecture

“From the start clients know that I’m going to be their guy, their contact person, and see their project all the way through.”
